River Oaks RV Park near Pleasant Hill, IA

When we made the reservation, she recommended spot 36. It was the most beautiful site we have ever seen. The trees were fully grown with lots of shade. We were right next to a beautiful overlook of the Des Moines River with 4 comfy chairs. The park was peaceful and a nice place to walk the dogs. I do recommend that you pack bug spray as the mosquitoes were fierce and plentiful.

We absolutely loved staying at Derek and Tina’s A-frame. From the moment we arrived, we felt comfortable and at home—even traveling with our toddlers. The space had everything we needed and more. It’s truly a beautiful place, and you can tell how much care goes into keeping it clean and well-maintained. We made such special memories here and will definitely be making our way back again. Highly recommend!

This camp ground is one of the more beautiful, well maintained, peaceful campgrounds I’ve been to. The residents are so helpful and friendly and Tina is an amazing hostess. Throughout the summer there are planned activities for everyone to enjoy like live music, trivia, food trucks, bouncy houses for the kids, and Thirsty Thursday to name a few. I enjoy visiting and spending the weekend! The only draw back is the 3 miles of gravel to get there but that is small potatoes.

A quiet and cozy place. Owner was way nice and cheerful. Only stayed one night but it was enjoyable.

Great secluded area right on the river. Very clean and well maintained. I highly recommend staying here.

Hands down one of my favorite stays! The sites are super comfortable and roomy. Tina and Eric were helpful and very nice! The seasonal and permanent residents that are there make you feel right at home! Shout out to Susie, Matt, Wendy, Bill, Reilly & Zach for a great happy hour! 😎 The only thing that wasn’t perfect is the road to get there but slow and steady and all is good. Also there is no camp store but they do provide firewood and ice. Thanks River Oaks! Hope to see you again when coming through.

The RV park was very nice, new rest room with big showers and laundry. The park is paved but the road in is 2 miles of dirt and stone not the greatest for the motorcycle we used to travel around the area.

This was a lovely place! Manicured grounds. Level sites. Full hookup. Excellent bath house. Even tho we we were full hook up my hubby isn't found of the 30 sec hot water in the RV. He's a bath house user wherever we go. For use the location was a little out of the way because we were in Des Moines for a wedding weekend, but that's not a bad thing perse. The camp was spaced out nicely. So much good about River Oaks RV Park.

Gave 4 stars for location due to about 2.5 miles down dirt road to get there. Otherwise, not more than 15-20 minutes to get to places to eat, grocery shop, gas up.
