River Oaks RV Park near Des Moines, IA

Our site was wonderful. Lots of shade and grass. Clean laundry and bathrooms. Quite a few long term campers but clean areas. Staff was super helpful and kind. Would stay here again.

We camped at River Oaks for 4 nights and it was amazing! The sites were beautiful, bathrooms were clean and everyone was helpful and friendly.

Didn’t need any service- if you’re looking for a nicely shaded area away from any large city this is the place 😁

Beautiful, quiet rv park with big lots. Very clean private restrooms and showers. Nice gameroom with free video games, tables and chairs for playing board / card games. Laundry facilities. We stay at River Oaks when we attend the Iowa State Fair so it isn't too far away. Wifi is pretty slow but we use phone hotspot (Verizon) and the signal is strong. The campground is a bit off the beaten path – about 3 miles down a well maintained wide gravel road. Your rv / vehicle will get dusty but that's typical for Iowa. We will definitely return.

The RV sites are thought out well, with lots of space between them, views, and shade trees. Wifi was fast and worked very well, and we felt it was a value, price-wise. Easy website to book. The road leading to the site is rock for several miles, and needs more rock and some work for wash-board areas, but taking it slow worked well, even during heavy rains and thunderstorms. Some of the RV sites weren’t exactly level, but not too bad. This place is a hidden gem.

We stayed in the Chicory A Frame cabin. It was beautiful!! 😍 Very new and clean and well stocked with the basics. Definitely recommend River Oaks. Thank you for the beautiful cabin. We’ll definitely be back!!

I loved thisxplace so serene and very clean and nice facilities and laundry room. The staff was extremely kind gave us fresh iowa corn ,tomatoes and jalapenos. It was peaceful and we ate fresh garden food every nogjt. This place os a win

This is a hidden gem, off the beaten path. It is secluded, quiet and the rv spots have a lot of room between them. A beautiful location and really well maintained. The staff is friendly and helpful. If we are back in IA, we’ll make a point of staying there.
